Founding Chairman of TTC Land: Business is a mission, not a benefit
Despite of coming from a family that does not have a tradition of real estate business, Mr. Dang Hong Anh still entered the real estate market and was the founding chairman of Sacomreal (now is TTC Land) when he was 25 years old. Currently, the name TTC Land has become a prestigious brand with a total asset of over VND 10,000 billion, chartered capital of more than VND 3,000 billion and owning a list of more than 40 projects nationwide.
Dare to change
It is usual that a business with more than 10 years will be very afraid of change, especially changing their brand identity. However, it does not seem to bother Mr. Hong Anh, after more than 14 years of development, Sacomreal brand of Saigon Thuong Tin Real Estate Joint Stock Company has been officially changed to TTC Land.
“Many people ask me why a big, well-known brand in the market spontaneously changes its brand. I just told them that in business, we must always change to adapt the current conditions and times. Of course, it does not mean that I do not appreciate the past but I collect the essence of the past to change and grow stronger” Mr. Hong Anh said.

Indeed, TTC Land is now not only investing and developing housing segment service as before, but it also participates in developing many different segments such as industrial real estate - logistics, resort real estate.
For the "traditional" segment – housing real estate, TTC Land continues to steadily develop a series of three specialized ranges: Jamona (complex), Charmington (high-end apartment), Carillon (middle-end apartment) and in 2019, they will develop more high-end product ranges. TTC Land's projects continue to have a great competitive advantage because they are all located in vibrant developing areas with complete infrastructure and many public facilities available.
Therefore, the leader of TTC Land determined to continue to promote the good foundation that the company has built in the past 15 years and continue to innovate operations in the direction of: improving corporate governance capacity, highly interconnecting in finance, technology and market. Building a strong and professional team of leaders, at the same time building a good management, business and expert team, making TTC Land develop strongly, increase benefits for shareholders and customers.
Destined to work in real estate
Although there is almost no one in the family working in real estate, at very young age Mr. Dang Hong Anh got chance to approach to famous entrepreneurs, parents’ friends, especially to gain experiences in business from his parents.
In the past, his parents made sugarcane, molasses, alcohol and others to distribute merchants and stores throughout the South. For a while, his father took a turn to choose a new way of finance and banking, while the sugarcane business was still continued and developed by his mother so far. Business blood may have formed naturally in Dang Hong Anh, but his choice of real estate is intentional.
In the next 5 years, TTC Land continues to persist in the strategy of stable and sustainable development based on actual demand of customers including: Real estate development in many areas including: housing, industry, logistics and services, in which the key one is still housing real estate. The resort and industrial real estate segment will be the two segments TTC Land marked its milestone in the coming time.
“I am the one who founded the company and operated from the beginning, the development journey so far has been nearly 15 years and it can be considered a prestigious project developer in the market. I am proud of the achievements of TTC Land, but if being lulled by the "beautiful records" without changing, TTC Land will surely stand still losing many opportunities and may even have to pay a price when confronting with many of market fluctuations” Mr. Dang Hong Anh said.
In the early 90s of the last century, the Government had many important reforms, especially in terms of procedures to attract investment capital, as well as encouraging enterprises to develop. Thanks to those reforms, the country has been increasingly changing, first of all are urban infrastructure, transport infrastructure, legal system, financial, monetary and credit policy systems; economic policy through the process of management from central to local levels leading to a strong urbanization process. This means that living standards are increasingly enhanced and urban housing demands are increasingly urgent.
And then Saigon Thuong Tin Real Estate Joint Stock Company (TTC Land, formerly Sacomreal) was established in 2004 with the initial duties of doing business in real estate services, paperwork, legal consulting, etc.
"I started real estate business like that" Mr. Dang Hong Anh said.
Initially, TTC Land was only a small company operating in real estate with a chartered capital of only VND 11 billion and 19 employees. With a breakthrough operation strategy and customer-oriented services, TTC Land has quickly become a reputable brand and well known by customers through services including: legal, advertising, building package with installment payments, marketing consulting and exclusive distribution of real estate products as well as others with a home loan purchase package up to 20 years.

But then, the crisis happened, the real estate market was severely degraded in the period of 2008-2013, also it was time Mr. Hong Anh' s "beloved” business entered the survival war. It was about the time when the real estate market was "frozen", investors withdrew their capital, banks tightened their capital, customers were no longer excited. There were times when TTC Land seemed to be very difficult to survive.
“It is understandable that the biggest difficulty for startup is that it is easy to give up after failure. We only have two choices, one is never starting a business, the other is when choosing a career of startup - a path to becoming a true entrepreneur, be patient enough to come along even on the road full of obstacles” Mr. Dang Hong Anh said.
The message from the chairman of Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association
In 2018, Mr. Dang Hong Anh was nominated for the role of the Central Chairman of Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association. Right after being appointed, he made many trips to more than 30 provinces and cities to launch a startup campaign.
According to Mr. Dang Hong Anh, for the moment the business environment is much more favorable, however it is also confronting the rapid and strong change of the industrial revolution 4.0, start-up activities also face new challenges.
In order to support young people to start a business, the Young Entrepreneurs Association not only plays role of gathering but also being a consultant or mentor through operating practical and creative activities. Mr. Dang Hong Anh always wanted to promote the construction and development of the Association; Support and connect members to help and share cooperation opportunities; Promote international integration and cooperation; Develop public information; Encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship, etc.
"My goal is nothing but encouraging young startups to enrich themselves and the community," he said.
Young people have advantages such as bravery, dare- to-think and dare-to-do mindset, enthusiasm, reckless attitude, etc. These are also advantages when starting up a business. The basic characteristic of start-up is the breakthrough to create something new that has not yet appeared on the market or created a better value than what is available that makes the dream of enriching the community, enriching yourselves easier to come true.
As a startup entrepreneur, trips, meetings with young people is an opportunity for Mr. Dang Hong Anh to share with young people his experiences. According to him, the market has a lot of battles, that it is impossible to know everything.
We think, we decide and we suppose that it is true but sometimes we repeat yesterday's faults, or the other days’ faults, but each stumble is a great lesson to help you experience from reality and gain lessons for yourselves. Success only comes to young people who dare to confront with difficulties, overcome challenges, grow up after failures and be consistent with their goals.
“I believe that with their youth and tradition, the Young Entrepreneurs Association will surely overcome all difficulties to lay the foundation for the campaign in the next period to deserve being the 'main force' to contribute to Vietnam development in the future” Mr. Dang Hong Anh.
