Survey highlights

The IR Awards 2025 program recognizes and honors listed companies meeting information disclosure standards through a comprehensive survey and the publication of the year’s list of Information Disclosure Standards achievers.

The 2025 information disclosure survey covered 691 listed companies on HOSE and HNX, with the survey period running from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025.

Results in 2025 show a marked improvement in disclosure quality across the stock market. A total of 460 listed companies achieved the Information Disclosure Best Practices 2025 title, representing 67% of the surveyed companies. This is the highest rate in the 15-year history of the IR Awards (2011–2025).

Compared to 2024, the number of companies meeting the 2025 standards increased by 36 (from 424 to 460), with the compliance rate rising from 60% to 67%. This demonstrates a strong upward trend and greater awareness among companies of the role and responsibility of information disclosure in Vietnam’s stock market.

The 2025 landscape reflects a positive shift in both awareness and action regarding information disclosure, not only among leading companies but also within the Mid Cap and Small Cap segments. This record-high compliance rate not only results from improvements in corporate governance but also reaffirms disclosure as an essential criterion for transparent governance and attracting investors. It lays an important foundation for enhancing the quality of Vietnam’s capital market in the future.

The Financial Large Cap segment continues to lead in compliance, with 86% meeting the 2025 standards, maintaining its position as a model for disclosure practices. This segment includes large-cap financial institutions in banking, securities, and insurance, which are subject to stringent oversight and high transparency requirements.

With a 72% compliance rate, the Non-Financial Large Cap group ranks third. Although not in the top tier, its 9-percentage-point increase from 63% last year shows significant improvement among large non-financial companies, reflecting rising efforts to meet growing investor expectations.

The Mid Cap group achieved a breakthrough, with compliance rising from 57% to 73%, showing a strong push for improved transparency and governance among medium-sized companies that play an increasingly important role in the market.

Small Cap compliance rose slightly by 4 percentage points to 63% in 2025. While still the lowest-performing group, this improvement shows the positive impact of greater IR awareness even among smaller companies, which often face more constraints in resources and disclosure systems.

Compliance improvements were recorded across most sectors compared to 2024, with financials, media services, energy, and industrials seeing the most notable gains. Sectors with traditionally high compliance rates—such as consumer staples, utilities, and healthcare—maintained or slightly improved their performance. This trend reflects the combined impact of policies promoting disclosure and transparent governance, along with proactive efforts from businesses.

Financials led all sectors with a 78% compliance rate, followed by media services (75%) and energy (73%), making them the top three sectors in 2025.

Some sectors, such as real estate and consumer discretionary, still have room for improvement, with compliance rates of 59% and 57%, respectively.

Over the 15 years of the IR Awards (2011–2025), the compliance rate has shown a clear upward trend. In the past five years, it has consistently stayed above 50%, indicating sustainable improvement. The 2025 record of 460 companies meeting the standards—accounting for 67% of the surveyed companies—is the highest since the program began. This milestone reflects the growing maturity in corporate information governance among listed companies and plays an important role in strengthening investor confidence and the appeal of Vietnam’s capital market.

The continuous rise over more than a decade also proves a positive shift in companies’ compliance mindset. This progress results from a combination of stricter regulatory oversight, market pressure, shareholder expectations, and rising investor demands for transparency and strong corporate governance.

Data from the IR Awards shows that fully complying with disclosure regulations and consistently maintaining a place on the list of Information Disclosure Standards achievers is not an easy feat—even for large or industry-leading companies. It is a challenge requiring systematic processes, leadership commitment, and a solid information governance foundation.
